Today is the birthday of John Tenniel, illustrator of both original ‘Alice’ books.
Sir John Tenniel was born on 28 February 1820 – which was exactly 200 years ago.
It was amongst others Tenniel’s black and white line drawings that made the ‘Alice’ books so popular. His illustrations are still appreciated nowadays.
